FCA Staff Across Tennessee Attends Pro and Collegiate Conference

Jason Scales, FCA Campus Rep., attended FCA’s Pro and Collegiate Conference at Auburn University, where chaplains and character coaches from colleges and professional teams across the country gathered to learn and connect. Events like this are invaluable because they provide opportunities to learn from experienced leaders and build relationships with others who share a passion for ministry.

He said; one of the highlights was hearing from C.L. “Shep” Shepherd, who shared a quote “Shep” Shepherd, who shared a quote that has stayed with me: “There are five gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and the Christian. But most people never read the first four."  He challenged us to live as a “fifth gospel” through our daily witness and influence.

He also benefited from a session on how to pray, plan, and live out E3 (Equip, Empower, Engage) within collegiate athletic departments. The practical tools and strategies shared will help me better connect with athletes and administrators as collegiate shared will help me better connect with athletes and administrators as collegiate ministry continues to evolve.

A final takeaway was a simple ministry growth equation: Relationships + Time + Consistency + Presence = Trust + Impact + Growth. He left the conference encouraged, energized, and excited to put these lessons into practice.
