Spotlight On A Coach
“A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.” - Billy Graham
Siegel High School Head Coach, Craig Reavis, is in his 26th year of coaching baseball. He was influenced by his father, Jackie Reavis, who was the baseball coach at Motlow while he was growing up. Also, Coach Reavis was influenced by his coach at MTSU, Steve Peterson.
Coach Reavis says his favorite part of being a Coach is "Developing the relationships with the players and seeing them improve and learn to play the game the way is it meant to be played.

What is your favorite thing about FCA?
- Love the fact that FCA is an organization that specifically tries to inject Christ into athletics.
What do you like to do in your free time?
- Love to play golf, eat out with friends, time with my kids.
Why did you want to have a Character Coach with your team?
- Another person that my players can lean on, as well as having another Godly person that can pour into their lives.
What are you looking forward to while coaching here in Rutherford Co?
- One of the biggest things I enjoy coaching in Rutherford county is the relationships and support I get from other coaches in the county. It is kind of like a big fraternity that has led to many friendships.
What is your favorite Biblical Story?
- At the death of Christ, when the temple curtain ripped from top to bottom. I just love that at that moment through the blood of Christ the door was open for us to enter God's presence on our own without having to go through a priest. That we were no longer separated from God.
Other favorites of Coach Reavis:
- Bible Verse? John 11:35 Jesus Wept. This just touches me in the fact that Jesus was a man like us and the compassion and empathy he had for those around him that were mourning the death of Lazarus. He knew a miracle was coming but he still felt the pain of those people.
- Sport? Baseball
- Food? I can always go for a good steak, and can never go wrong with spaghetti.
- Candy? Whatchamacallit is my go to.
- Movie? Field of Dreams
- Season? Fall
- I follow Jesus because? Well, He is "the way and the truth and the life." There is no other way to true eternal happiness without following Jesus.
